louder sounds
A music tumblr without the snobbery. Well, maybe just a little snobbery.
Theme (Updated) by Darryl - Powered by Tumblr

A new and fully improved (and consistantly) updated loudersounds will be launching October 1, 2011.

I’m hard at work on the redesign and I’ve got loudersounds.com purchased.

Please be patient with me. There’s a lot of good stuff around the bend!

Until then, enjoy the archives

Bossa meets underground hip hop and my mantra/song for today!

Lone - Apple Hi

Been BOOMING this album for the past couple of days. A nice mix of glitch, downtempo and hip hop with a decidedly cool ass early 80s r&b sound, and absolutely perfect for summer walks in the city.

My Morning Jacket - Tyrone (e.badu cover)

This just blew my mind. It’s always interesting to hear a male voice singing a song written and performed by a female without those annoying changes in pronouns and subject. And, man those geetars. So delicious. The vibe is undeniable sexy, give it a listen!

This mix was made especially for one of my favorite homies, habeebullah. Habeebullah was one of my first followers and probably one of my favorite sets of ears as we both share a deep love for bossa nova and Brazilian jazz. Making this mix came with an interesting set of challenges but pushed me in a new direction in terms of crafting mixes and how go about the “science”, if you will. I spent a lot of time meditating while working through those challenges and something about that clarity is difficult to put into words but easy to describe with music. I hope this mix extends to you all a sense of calm and quiet awareness whenever you may need it.

Frank Ocean - LoveCrimes

Seriously, I really can’t stop listening to this album. Frank Ocean is singlehandedly turning me into somewhat of an Odd Future fan.

I can’t believe I just said that, but this right here is my shit.

Witness - Sylvia Plath

Does anyone know the sax sample in this song? I love it so much and I’m dying to figure it out

The Everafter LP is my chill album right now, Just the right mix of jazz and hip hop.
